Hot Diggity Dog Stew!
Quick, easy, inexpensive and delicious. How can that not be a winner? Hot, filling and nutritious, the kids and even the adult kids are going to love it!

Servings: 4 people, makes 1 Liter
- 1/2 Cup Diced Onion
- 2 Carrots peeled and quartered then sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
- 1 Celery Stalk Chopped
- 2 TBSP Salad Oil
- 2 Medium Potatoes Diced
- 1/2 Cup Corn frozen or canned
- 1 14oz Can Diced Tomatoes
- 3 Hot Dogs sliced in half or quarters then sliced into 1/4 inch pieces
- 2 Cubes Chicken Bouillion
- 2-1/2 Cups Water
- 1/2 TSP Dried Thyme
Saute' the Onions,Carrots and Celery in the oil for 5 minutes.
Add the Potatoes, then the Chicken Bouillon Cubes, Water, Tomatoes and Thyme.
I have no idea why they are called "Pizza Tomaten" here in Germany, but they are diced tomatoes!
Bring this to a boil, then lower heat and simmer for 10 minutes until Potatoes are almost done.
Add the Corn or "Sonnenmais" in German.
Add the Hot Dogs
Again, bring to a low boil, then lower heat and simmer another 10 minutes.
Serve hot with crackers or rolls and enjoy!
Me? I'll be putting a dab of peanut butter and jelly on those crackers because that's how I like it! And you?
