Aunt Ruthie's Raisin Sauce
Ten minutes. That's it. That's all it takes to make this tangy, sweet sauce flavored with lemon and full of plump raisins. One saucepan and almost zero effort is all that's needed to get this sauce ready and on the table to serve with baked ham. I love it and I hope you will too.

Servings: 8 servings
- 1/4 cup packed Brown Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Cornstarch
- 1-1/2 cups water
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 Tbsp fresh Lemon Juice or bottled
- 1 Tbsp cider vinegar or white
- 1/2 tsp Lemon Zest omit if you don't have a fresh lemon
Zest the lemon and squeeze to obtain the juice.
In a medium sized saucepan combine the brown sugar and cornstarch.
Stir in the water, raisins, lemon zest, lemon juice and vinegar.
Cook and stir over medium low heat.
Cook and stir until thick and bubbly.
Cook one additional minute. Sauce will become translucent.
Serve warm over slices of baked ham.
