Welcome to The Journey Girl!
I’m Karen. A fun loving, optimistic, retired RN who just happens to enjoy writing, traveling, sewing, cooking, dogs, cats, gardening, the great outdoors, attempting new things and learning something new every day, but not necessarily in that order.
After spending the vast majority of my life’s journey in New York State, Dan and I moved to the wilds of Northwest Washington State. Way up in the mountains. The idea was to retire there, raise Alpacas, grow our own food, fish in the lake, hike the trails, watch the sunrise over the Kettle Ridge and the moonrise over the hill behind our home. At least that WAS the plan until he was offered an overseas assignment here in Bavaria, Germany last year that just sounded like one heck of an adventure and so, we moved! Well this stage of my journey has been up, down and twisted around and tied in bows but what an adventure! It has been great meeting new people and experiencing different cultures, foods, fashions and I feel so very blessed to have this opportunity. We will be back in Washington in a couple of years, but in the meantime I’ll be sharing stories from my new Bavarian life along with stories of life in Washington.
Thanks for stopping by today. Love to all my old friends and a “Herzlich Willkommen” to all my new friends. That would be a “Hearty Welcome!”
